March and April were great months for tarpon fishing here in Puerto Rico. We released 61 tarpon in March and 75 tarpon in April aboard the EXTREMIST. Capt. Juan and Capt. Javier had many great days on the water with awesome customers. Had a great time with Murat from Turkey. In three mornings in March we caught 7 tarpon up to 65 pounds and lost two really big ones on the last day of fishing. Good customer Gary and his crew from New York caught 10 tarpon in three mornings in March and repeat customer Tim from Minnesota caught 3 tarpon in a great afternoon outing on March 21st. Capt. Juan and Chaz capped off March with a great morning trip catching 5 tarpon out of 9 bites on March 30th. April started off strong with Gavin catching 7 tarpon out of 13 bites on the morning of April 4th. Tom and his sons caught 5 tarpon out of 7 bites on the morning of April 6th. Chris caught 7 tarpon up to 50 pounds on the morning of April 17th and Adam & Marlena caught 3 nice tarpon on the same afternoon. Romel and his son caught 7 tarpon up to 60 pounds on the afternoon of April 18th. Chris came back with his family on April 20th and the caught 5 baby tarpon and one 60 pounder! Mark and his family ended the month catching 6 tarpon out of 9 bites on the morning of April 26th. Reef fishing was consistent as we caught some nice kingfish, cero mackerel, barracuda & yellowtail snappers. Had a great reef trip with return customer Dave were we caught 2 kings, 3 ceros, 1 nice mutton snapper and many tasty yellowtails.
